Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti(born November 12, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now One Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to get a flawless score of 10 during the Olympic event. Bela Karolyi was later Romanian Gymnastics Coach, came across Comaneci at just seven years old. First competing in the championships for juniors from Romania in the year 1969, she finished 13th. In 1970, she was crowned champion. In her 1972 first international event in an Olympic-style junior preolympic competition for countries in the Communist bloc, she was awarded three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1975 she was awarded the All-around Junior Champion. Her first senior competition in 1975 she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva. She was the five-time European champion, winning four gold medals and one silver. She took home the American Cup at the New York City Olympics and was the first female ever to remove the parallel bars using a double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she was performing on traveling shows like Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne born 6 September 1942 Chicago Illinois US. Carol's first job was in entertainment during her teenage year. At the age of a girl she started her career as a figure skating performer with Nina Wayne in the travelling show of entertainment Ice Capades. The shows were the ice skating of which was accompanied by theatrical music.
