Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th in 1980) was an American performer, actor, and dancer. The first Broadway roles included Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. The Tony Award was given to her for the role of Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford spent her career collaborating with acclaimed actors and directors across the stage, film and TV and she continues that award-winning collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford can be seen next starring alongside Kumail Nanjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It will premiere on 22nd November. Ashford's current project is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust which he is starring in with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The movie will air on Disney DTC as an Hulu Original. Ashford's Broadway return will take place in March 2023 when he stars opposite Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. The team behind Hamilton director Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the helm of the show. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the crisis in America that picked up Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment proceedings in over 100 years. Her two seasons on CBS show B Positive was her first major role. It was developed by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. Also, it featured Ben Vereen and Hector Elizondo. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde is among her other Broadway performances. Ashford divides her time between Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and grew up there.
